THE ENGLISH INDOOR BOWLS ASSOCIATION

‘OPEN SINGLES CIRCUIT’ COMPETITION IS COMING TO US!  🥳

We are proud to be hosting the English Indoor Bowling Association (E.I.B.A.) OPEN SINGLES CIRCUIT, a major national bowls event during the weekend of the 17th and 18th January 2026.  We are the only venue to be hosting this event this year in the South of Kent.  It will attract amongst the best bowlers in the country and there are large cash prizes to be won by competitors.

The event will be open to spectators on both days. From 8.00am to 8.00pm on Saturday and from 8.00am on Sunday until when the final game is finished.  Admission is free and our club restaurant and fully licensed bar will be open throughout, with our superb Sunday Carvery available on the Sunday.  (Pre booking essential).  The club is fully accessible to all and free parking is available on site.

The event will be of particular interest to other bowlers and indoor Bowls Clubs for, apart from watching first class players, we have recently installed screens at either end of the rinks to enable bowlers to see all of the woods around the jack at the far end.  The system is known as ‘Bowlseye’ and has placed the club at the forefront of modern Indoor Bowls Centres.

The Mayor of Margate, Cllr Katie Pope will be presenting the prizes to the winners late on Sunday afternoon.

Our purpose as a club is to promote and develop the sport of indoor bowls in Thanet so it enriches the lives of its participants, connects with the community and provides a healthy, social atmosphere for members and the public alike.  Growing the numbers of bowls participants is at the heart of our mission and this event is ideal to further this community involvement and generate increased public interest in bowling.  We also hope that this major event will bring Margate and Thanet some welcome trade and publicity at this normally quiet time of the year.

TO ENSURE THE TIBC CAR PARK IS AVAILABLE FOR PEOPLE USING THE CLUB AND ASSOCIATED PREMISES IT IS NOW REGULATED AND MANAGED BY AVALON TECHNOLOGY LTD. WHO USE NUMBER PLATE RECOGNITION TECHNOLOGY TO MAINTAIN PARKING COMPLIANCE.  IN ORDER TO AVOID RECEIVING A PENALTY NOTICE YOU WILL NEED TO COMPLY WITH THE FOLLOWING;

IF YOU ARE A MEMBER  –  PLEASE ENSURE YOUR VEHICLE DETAILS HAVE BEEN SUBMITTED TO THE CLUB AND UPDATED IF NECESSARY FOLLOWING ANY VEHICLE CHANGES. 

IF USING A VEHICLE NOT REGISTERED ON THE SYSTEM YOU WILL NEED TO ENTER THE VEHICLE DETAILS ON THE DEDICATED TABLET INSIDE THE CLUB.

IF YOU ARE A VISITOR TO THE CLUB OR RESTAURANT – PLEASE ENSURE YOU ENTER YOUR VEHICLE DETAILS AT THE DEDICATED TABLET LOCATED ON THE COUNTER INSIDE THE CLUB.

IF A VEHICLE IS NOT ON THE SYSTEM IT WILL GENERATE A PENALTY NOTICE OF £100 AGAINST THE REGISTERED KEEPER OF THE VEHICLE.

VISITORS TO THE STUDIO AND WALPOLE BAY WILL BE ABLE TO USE TABLETS AT THOSE LOCATIONS TO ENTER THEIR VEHICLE DETAILS.
